This Privacy Policy explains what information Deep Digest ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Deep Digest, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company based in Colorado Springs, collects when you use deepdigest.org and our emailed video summaries (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
We use your information to generate and email your summaries and confirmations; to run channel subscriptions (checking followed channels for new videos and sending you a digest); to measure usage against your plan and process billing; to let you manage or cancel subscriptions; to respond to support requests; to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse; to maintain and improve the Service; and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
To create a summary, we send the YouTube video's link to Google's Gemini API along with our instructions; Gemini analyzes the video and returns the summary text. For topic syntheses, we send the text and titles of your previously stored summaries, along with your question. We do not send your email address to Gemini. Google handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
We share information only with service providers that help us run Deep Digest, and only as needed to provide the Service:
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the Service, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. The site uses your browser's local storage to remember your access code. Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when the page loads. Stripe's checkout pages and your own email provider may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
We keep your information while you use the Service and as needed to provide it. Unsubscribing from a channel removes that subscription from our database. Your summary history stays until you ask us to delete it. Billing records may be kept longer where needed for tax, accounting, or legal reasons. Server logs are kept for a limited period.
You can unsubscribe from any channel at any time on our subscription management page. You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it by emailing support@deepdigest.org from the address on your account; we aim to respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor valid requests as the law requires. You can cancel a paid subscription as described in our Terms of Service.
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hosting on Google Cloud, and restricted access to our database and credentials. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Summaries link back to videos on YouTube. YouTube and other sites we link to are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not this one.
The Service is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify active subscribers by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date above shows when this Policy last changed.
Questions about this Policy or requests about your information can be sent to support@deepdigest.org.
